The Hon Nick Greiner AC – Chairperson

Nick Greiner was Premier and Treasurer of New South Wales from 1988-1992. He was awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia for public sector reform and management and services to the community in 1994.

Since retiring from politics, Mr Greiner has served as the Chairman or Deputy Chairman with several large companies. He holds an Honours Degree in Economics from Sydney University and a Master of Business Administration with High Distinction from Harvard Business School.

Ben Sebel – Director

Mr Sebel is a Managing Director at CHAMP Private Equity, having been formerly based in New York at Castle Harlan, Inc. for seven years.  Mr Sebel has been deeply involved in CHAMP's activities since inception in 1999 and is experienced in all aspects of private equity investment, including deal origination, realisations and fundraising in both the United States and Australia. Immediately prior to joining Castle Harlan, Mr Sebel worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its Capital Markets Group. Previously, Mr Sebel spent two years as Special Advisor to the Hon. Nick Greiner AC, a former premier of New South Wales, and commenced his career in the Management Consulting Services Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers (Australia), where he also qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Mr. Sebel holds a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.

Mr Sebel is currently a director of Healthcare Australia Holdings Pty Limited and formerly a director of Study Group Pty Limited, United Malt Holdings, Ion Track, Inc., Associated Packaging Technologies, Inc., Equipment Support Services, Inc. and AdobeAir, Inc.

Barry Zuckerman – Director

Barry Zuckerman joined CHAMP Private Equity in 2001 and is the Finance Director for the CHAMP group of companies. He is responsible for the finance and operations infrastructure of the group and manages the day-to-day financial operations for the funds.

He has extensive experience with acquisitions, due diligence, structuring, listed reporting and accounting for mortgage, property, equity trusts (both retail and wholesale), taxation and compliance. His funds management industry experience was initially with the Howard Group and subsequently with Challenger International Limited (“Challenger”), both listed ASX companies. He was the CFO and a member of the Executive Committee of Challenger and played a significant role in the emergence of Challenger from a niche investment bank into a top 100 listed business. Prior to that, Mr Zuckerman gained professional experience with Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers in audit and in information systems.

Mr Zuckerman received an AVCAL Outstanding Service award for disclosure guidelines in 2004 and won the AVCAL award for Excellence in Investor Reporting in 2009.

Mr Zuckerman holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and is a member of The Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Mr Zuckerman is a member of the International Private Equity and Valuation (IPEV) Board. He is also a Director of HCA.

Amanda Adrian, LLB (UNSW), BA (UNE), RN, FTCN, FRCNA - Non-Executive Director

The CEO of Amanda Adrian and Associates, 
Amanda is widely experienced in health and aged care – including nursing, administration and management, quality and safety, governance, policy, law and regulation, education and ethics.

John Heard – Non-Executive Director

John Heard is a Chartered Accountant and a Director or consultant for a number of companies. John joined Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) in 1970, and became a partner in 1976. He left in 1979 to form his own partnership, Allert Heard & Co, specialising in insolvency. When Allert Heard & Co was acquired by Arthur Andersen in 1989, John became a sole practitioner and company director.

John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and The University of South Australia.

His current directorships include Chairman of Penrice Soda Holdings Limited and Bank SA Advisory Board, Deputy Chairman of Adtrans Group Limited and Director of S Kidman & Co Ltd and HCA SPV Pty Ltd (Healthcare Australia). He is also Chairman of the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation.
