We are seeking a dynamic and experienced After Hours Hospital Manager / Coordinator to join our team and provide critical leadership and support outside of regular business hours. This role is ideal for a senior Registered Nurse who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about patient care, staff support, and hospital operations.

About the Role
As the After Hours Hospital Manager/Coordinator, you will be the central point of contact for hospital operations during evenings, nights, and public holidays. Your responsibilities will span clinical oversight, staffing coordination, patient flow management, and incident response-ensuring high standards of care and safety are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and bed management.
- Provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and allied health staff.
- Manage staffing adjustments and respond to unplanned absences.
- Act as the first responder to clinical or operational incidents (e.g., Code Blue, Code Black).
- Liaise with internal departments and external emergency services as needed.
- Ensure documentation, reporting, and handover of all critical after-hours events.

About You
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in acute care nursing (hospital experience essential).
- Proven leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage complex situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Previous experience in a coordination or supervisory role is highly desirable.
- Must have Advanced Life Support being the responsible Manager after hours in charge of escalating and decision making on patient safety.
- ED and ICU/Critical care or Ortho Ward Clinical Nurses highly regarded

Essential Criteria
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective Human Resource Management
- Experience and understanding of financial management of an area budget
- Current ALS1 or 2 Accredited
- Understanding of the NSQHS standards and infection prevention/ control measures
