Aged Care / Community Manager


Exciting Opportunity: Aged Care and Community Manager Position Available in Parap, Northern Territory

  • Base Salary $136k base plus super, plus benefits

  • Own accommodation

Role and Responsibilities

Client Services

  • Manage the operations of the service including the physical, financial, and human resources

  • Manage the Commonwealth Home Care Packages and the Home Support Program to ensure optimal service delivery to clients

  • Coordinate the assessment of individual clients’ personal and social needs including medical reviews and telehealth appointments

  • Ensure the provision of culturally appropriate programs and service delivery

  • Access information on best practices in Aged Care service delivery

  • Oversee the service delivery to NDIS-eligible clients

  • Oversee the Elder Care program

  • Develop and coordinate a range of services to support clients end of life journey and return to the country if desired

  • Develop and sustain professional working relationships with clients, family members/carers, community members and stakeholders

  • Encourage and support involvement of the family/carers in the care and support of clients

  • Perform other duties within the scope as directed by the Executive Health Manager and or CEO

Staff Management

  • Provide leadership and work in consultation with staff to ensure optimal service delivery to clients

  • Ensure staff are performing duties linked to their position descriptions

  • Support staff in professional development opportunities


  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check

  • Current NT Working with Children Clearance Ochre Card

  • Confidentiality is a mandatory requirement; any breach of this requirement may compromise ongoing employment

  • Compliance with all policies and procedures of Health Service and Flexible Aged Care and Community Services

  • Report to the CEO immediately any personal criminal charges or convictions that arise

  • Participate in an annual fire drill

  • Participate in the annual performance review with the Executive Health Manager

Selection Criteria


  • Current Nursing registration with AHPRA

  • Extensive experience in Aged Care Management

  • Demonstrated experience in complex program management

  • Sound knowledge of monitoring financial budgets

  • A good understanding of the Aged Care Standards

  • Experience in reporting to major funding bodies

  • Experience in workplace change management

  • Experience in meeting compliance targets

  • Excellent consultation skills

  • Exemplary communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues impacting community life within Man Ingrida Community and surrounding Outstations

  • Knowledge of services and support available to community members

  • Experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives

  • Competent in the use of information technology including Microsoft Office programs and electronic databases

  • Current manual Driver’s License

  • Current First Aid

  • Understanding of Aboriginal culture or a willingness to learn and capacity to live in a remote community


  • Experience working in a remote Aboriginal community

  • Experience working within an Aboriginal Aged Care environment

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and work effectively within a remote Aboriginal community
