Casual Nurse Trainer/educator – Darwin

We have casual positions available for sessional Trainers to join our team in Darwin.

This role would be working with our National Training and Education Division. This is a growing division within our business which includes training programs for existing HCA health care, aged care, and disability support workers.  We also work with employers and individuals to deliver accredited training such as First Aid and medications courses and non-accredited mandatory competencies such as manual handling, basic life support, induction programs and technical competency assessments.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and upbeat RN, with TAE40116 or 40122 qualifications or recent clinical & training experience, to join our education team on a casual basis.
Based in Darwin, the role involves a variety of training and assessment activities of healthcare workers. These include but are not limited to Manual Handling, Basic Life Support. Medications for care workers., PEG tubes and feeding, Bowel and Bladder care, Diabetes and Insulin Pen administration, Epilepsy and Midazolam. ANTT, Aggression handling, Dementia care awareness and many more.
  
Trainers are provided with clear session plans and resources prior to undertaking training sessions. Assessment responsibilities include both practical observation and marking of theoretical tests. We have a highly diverse team with a wide range of experience in the healthcare field, actively contributing to the growth and upskilling of the healthcare and community services sectors. 
You’ll be part of Healthcare Australia’s “team purple”. We offer regular, flexible hours and provide on-the-job support.

About you

We are looking for an experienced nurse that is passionate about engaging with students and delivering a high quality of training.

 Selection criteria

  • a current TAE40116 or 40122
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Must be an experienced RN (nurses with current acute, aged care or disability support/NDIS experience will be highly regarded)
  • Desirable experience in teaching courses such as Manual Handling, Basic Life Support and medication administration for care workers.
  • Covid 19 vaccination certificate
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must reside and hold full working rights in Australia
  • Are comfortable utilising technology when delivering courses virtually or face-to-face
