Counsellor – HCA – Corporate Health 6 month fixed term contract

The Role:

HCA is seeking a counsellor for drug & alcohol counselling, addiction management as well as relationship counselling and critical incident response
Experience in counselling for separation & relationship issues, bereavement, drug and alcohol highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provision of therapeutic counselling for clients
  • Professional and ethical management of client case load
  • Primary consultation with organisations where a critical incident has occurred, followed by intervention on-site or other venues as arranged with affected employees.
  • Identify and follow up risk issues as required.
  • Refer clients to external (e.g. primary care, stepped care, specialist agencies, GPs) as appropriate

About You:

  • Ongoing full accreditation under a national counselling registration board. Acceptable accrediting bodies include Australian Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists Association & AHPRA.
  • Minimum 2 years full time counselling experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in counselling
  • Experience in counselling for separation & relationship issues, bereavement, drug and alcohol highly regarded.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing culturally appropriate care.
  • A sound understanding of the principles, language and actions required to deliver an inclusive service.
  • Experience in trauma-informed practice and a client-centred, collaborative approach.
  • Knowledge of health and community service systems/programs
