Infection Prevention and Control Lead

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions.  HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

As the Infection Prevention and Control Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of protecting the wellbeing of detainees and staff by preventing and managing communicable diseases. Your work will help create a safer environment and reduce the risk of infectious disease outbreaks.

In this position, you will take the lead in ensuring robust infection prevention and control measures are developed and implemented. You will also manage vaccination programs for detainees and staff, ensuring timely and effective delivery. A key part of the role involves designing communicable disease management strategies, including comprehensive Outbreak Management Plans, to minimise risks and respond effectively to potential incidents.

As a subject matter expert, you will provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders, offering practical advice and support to maintain a safe environment.

The scope of this role extends across Immigration Detention Centres and Alternative Places of Detention (APODs).

Our head office is in Melbourne, but we welcome applications from talented candidates across Australia. If you’re the right fit, location won’t hold you back!
