Quality Officer – Home Care

About the Role:

Opportunity for an experienced Quality Officer based in Sydney.
Working closely with the Home Care operations team, the Quality Officer will be required to conduct comprehensive audits of Home Care self-managed, fully managed, and CHSP services to ensure adherence to Quality Aged Care Standards.
This role involves evaluating care practices, documentation, and service delivery against established standards, identifying areas for improvement, and providing recommendations to enhance quality and compliance. A strong knowledge of and demonstrated experience with the Quality Aged Care Standards are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of home care self-managed services, including care practices, documentation, and service delivery
  • Evaluate compliance with Quality Aged Care Standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and potential risks, and provide clear, actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and action plans
  • Collaborate with care managers, service coordinators, and other stakeholders to implement corrective actions and improve service quality
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and follow up on outstanding issues to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Quality Aged Care Standards, regulatory changes, and best practices in-home care services
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality standards, audit processes, and continuous improvement initiatives

To be Considered:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or a related field not essential – highly regarded (Equivalent experience may be considered)
  • AHPRA desired – not essential
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in home care quality auditing, compliance, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with Quality Aged Care Standards
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using audit software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Certification in Quality Auditing (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor) is desirable.
