Healthcare Australia is currently seeking Registered Nurses for remote residential aged care services in the Alice Springs region.
These roles involve working closely with Aboriginal Elders in remote communities and require cultural respect, adaptability, and a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.
HCA Travel Nurse Agency Contracts Available
Classification: RN Level 2
Accommodation: Shared accommodation provided
Travel: Return travel covered from the nearest capital city airport to the allocated remote facility

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with experience or a strong interest in remote or Indigenous health. They communicate with cultural awareness and respect, and demonstrate adaptability and resilience when working in remote community environments. They are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred aged care and are confident working both autonomously and as part of a small, multidisciplinary team.
Role Context
Make a difference in communities by supporting elderly residents and delivering meaningful, culturally informed care.
- Low to moderate aged care acuity
- Strong consumer-directed care model
- Working autonomously or in small teams
- Multi-tasking and stepping outside standard duties when needed
- Coordinating care for residents with chronic or mobility conditions
- Supporting allied health and visiting clinicians
- Working within remote Indigenous communities in Central Northern Territory
Working Conditions
Working in remote communities comes with environmental factors to consider:
- Basic, functional accommodation (not luxury)
- Limited shops
- Hot climate and remote living conditions (insects, limited local services)
- English may be a second or third language for residents
Key Requirements
- LeeCare/iCare experience preferred
- AHPRA registration
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Full Australian working rights
- 2+ years RN experience (Aged Care preferred)
- Experience in multicultural/multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of contemporary nursing practices including new Aged Care legislation (effective 1 Nov 2025)
- National Police Check (within 3 months)
- Current Flu Vaccination
- NDIS Worker Screening (SAFE NT)
