About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to work across a broad surgical caseload, including Obstetrics, Gynaecology, General Surgery and ENT, within a supportive and collaborative operating theatre environment.

You will be an integral part of the perioperative team, working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure optimal patient outcomes before, during, and after surgery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective scrub and scout nursing care across multiple surgical specialties
  • Prepare operating theatres, instruments, and equipment in line with best practice
  • Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention standards
  • Assist surgeons during procedures and anticipate surgical needs
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with clinical policies
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and a positive team culture

Essential Criteria

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • Demonstrated experience as a Scrub Scout RN in a perioperative setting
  • Experience in Obstetrics, Gynae, General Surgery and/or ENT (multi-specialty experience highly regarded)
  • Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to patient safety, professional standards, and culturally respectful care
  • Ability to work effectively in a regional hospital environment
