Health Care Australia are please to announce their Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) has commenced in Western Sydney and Southern Metropolitan Melbourne.
The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is an ‘entry level’ program for people to assist them to remain living at home longer. CHSP differs from Home Care Packages by being either being just some short term help or only basic ongoing assistance with only one or two services.
The services in western Sydney are for personal care support and respite, with the services in Southern Metropolitan Melbourne being allied health, including physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy and dietetics.
Similar to Home Care Packages, clients are asked to contribute towards their CHSP services. The current rates are:
- Personal Care – $12.00 per hour
- Respite – $14.00 per hour
- Allied Health – $22.00 per hour
- Personal Care – $20.00 per hour
- Respite – $22.00 per hour
- Allied Health – $22.00 per hour
You may be eligible for CHSP funding if you are experiencing trouble with:
- Everyday activities like personal care
- Need help to remain living in your home
- Aged 65 years or older
- Aged 50 years or older and identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
- Aged 50 years or older (45 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) and on a low income, homeless or at risk of being homeless.
