You may:

  • Support young people in residential care settings
  • Build positive and meaningful relationships
  • Encourage independence and life skills
  • Promote wellbeing through daily activities
  • Maintain accurate case notes and records

Are You Ready?

  • Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services or a related qualification
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • National Police Check

Do I need previous experience?

Not always. We recruit for a range of Youth Worker roles suitable for different levels of experience. If you’re passionate about supporting young people, we’ll help identify opportunities that match your skills and qualifications.

I’m currently a Support Worker. Can I transition into Youth Work?

Absolutely. Many Support Workers successfully transition into Youth Work because they already have highly transferable skills, including building relationships, supporting people with complex needs and promoting independence.

What qualifications do I need?

Most roles require a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services or a related qualification. Some opportunities may also be available to people who are currently studying.

Healthcare Australia pays weekly, so you’ll receive regular payments for the shifts you work.
