Registered Nurse Primary Health – Casual Opportunity

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including primary care, allied health, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention Network (IDN). Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions.  HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

Are you a passionate and dedicated Primary Health Nurse looking for flexible work that fits your lifestyle? Whether you’re balancing study, family, or other commitments — we have an opportunity for you to join our team!

This is a casual employment opportunity.

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team dedicated to delivering person-centred, high-quality, and safe care. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to improve the health outcomes and overall wellbeing of individuals in detention.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a broad range of clinical responsibilities, including immunisations, blood collection, wound care, health assessments, care planning, medication administration, and health promotion and education. The role involves delivering care that honours the dignity, culture, values, beliefs, and rights of detainees, while fostering a respectful and inclusive healthcare environment.

Let’s talk about you!

You will be an AHPRA Registered Nurse (General unrestricted registration) and have at least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, including hands-on patient care in an operational setting (non-Telehealth)

You will demonstrate a strong ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. You will possess excellent communication skills, coupled with critical thinking and sound decision-making abilities. Your adaptability and flexibility will enable you to respond effectively to changing circumstances and meet the evolving needs of detainees.

You’ll bring your passion for Primary Health care and be rewarded with:

  • Free onsite parking
  • Be part of a well-respected Australian based organisation of more than 1000 employees including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Salary Packaging – novated leasing available with Smart Group
  • Working with us is not just about the opportunity to impact lives.  Together with our range of benefits, we make sure our people are cared for too!

Veterans are encouraged to apply. At HCA we are committed to embracing diversity and committed to providing a safe working environment.
