Nurse Unit Manager – Emergency Department

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the opening of a brand-new Emergency Department within a leading private hospital.

This is a rare chance to build and develop a high-performing team, shape the culture of a new department, and drive excellence in emergency care delivery.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee clinical standards, workforce management, and operational performance to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.

About the Role

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff.
  • Oversee recruitment, rostering, and performance management.
  • Ensure care delivery aligns with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
  • Manage financial and human resources within the department.
  • Collaborate with the wider leadership team to achieve strategic objectives.

About You

  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 5 years’ postgraduate experience in Critical Care.
  • Extensive Emergency Department experience (essential).
  • Previous leadership or senior nursing experience highly regarded.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and team leadership skills.

Requirements

  • National Police Check (within 12 months).
  • Working With Children Check and immunisation evidence as required.
