An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Lecturer in Nursing to join a growing academic team delivering postgraduate nursing education.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the academic leadership team, you will play a key role in the delivery, development, and continuous improvement of postgraduate nursing programs. This position combines teaching excellence, student engagement, curriculum innovation, and scholarly activity, providing a rewarding opportunity to influence the future nursing workforce.
You will work collaboratively with fellow academics and industry professionals to ensure students receive a contemporary, evidence-based educational experience that supports both academic achievement and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, workshops, and online learning activities within postgraduate nursing programs.
- Facilitate clinical and simulation-based learning experiences aligned with current professional standards.
- Develop, review, and enhance curriculum content, learning resources, and assessment methodologies.
- Assess academic performance and provide meaningful feedback to support student development.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor postgraduate nursing students throughout their studies.
- Contribute to course accreditation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in research, scholarly activity, and professional development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student retention, progression, and success.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of nursing practice, healthcare trends, and regulatory requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of academic expertise, teaching capability, and professional nursing experience.
Essential Requirements
- PhD in Nursing or a closely related healthcare discipline.
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated experience teaching nursing within a tertiary or higher education environment.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based nursing practice and contemporary healthcare issues.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to engage and support diverse student cohorts.
- Commitment to academic excellence and student-centred learning.
Highly Regarded
- Experience delivering postgraduate or Master’s level nursing education.
- Curriculum design and course development expertise.
- Research publications or active involvement in research projects.
- Knowledge of pathways and registration processes for internationally qualified nurses within Australia.
- Experience supervising student research or capstone projects.
