I love empowering older Australians to stay safe and comfortable in their beloved homes but the best part of the job is meeting all of the lovely pets when I visit customers to sign up with HCA. Lots of wagging tails!

I have been working in the disability sector for several years, beginning my career as a Support Worker with a strong focus on sports based supports within the NDIS. I later moved into delivering School Leaver Employment Supports in rural South Australia, helping young people transition from school into employment and greater independence.

After five years in the sector, I relocated to Queensland and had the opportunity to join Healthcare Australia. What initially drew me to HCA, and what continues to motivate me, is the resourceful nature of the organisation and the many ways we can use those resources to create meaningful outcomes for the people we support.

I am also driven by the continuous learning that comes from working in an environment surrounded by talented and passionate professionals. Being part of a team with so many brilliant minds allows me to keep developing my knowledge and contribute to better supports for our clients.

What I love most about working with HCA is the diversity—no two days are the same. Being based in a regional community while supporting HR across Australia, gives me a unique perspective and connection to different teams and challenges. It’s also rewarding to be part of a national and international organisation, where there are so many opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact across a wide network.

I love what I do! I love leading a team to learn more about themselves, to give them real opportunities and experiences. I love giving them the space to make decisions, learn from their mistakes, and be creative thinkers. And I love that what we do, means that people with disability get to live the life they choose. So it is awesome that HCA is an organisation that embraces this style of management and operations, and I get to do what I love every day. I also love that HCA isn’t standing still. As an organisation we are constantly looking for the next opportunity, the next way to get better at being the best healthcare provider. This dynamic environment is rewarding and exciting and makes every day interesting.

I love working at HCA because of the people – from the marketing team I work closely with, to the broader teams I collaborate with, as well as the healthcare workers, residents, and all other stakeholders. It’s an organisation with a lot of heart, continuously growing in both scale and scope, and my role has grown alongside it. What I love most about working at HCA is the team. From my very first day, everyone has been so kind, supportive, approachable and welcoming. Every day I am able to support individuals to live more independently and achieve their goals – I am very fortunate to be apart of that journey. Collaborating across a experienced and diverse team makes a difference in a very fast paced environment. There is always opportunities to grow and develop my skills or to take on new challenges – every day is a new learning experience! Knowing that the work we do empowers individuals to live more independently in their own lives is a very satisfying element to my work.

I’m passionate about supporting people with disability, and in my role as a HCA NDIS Business Relationship Lead, I’m able to make a real difference by ensuring supports are truly person-centred. Working with HCA NDIS allows me to implement meaningful changes so services better meet the needs of local Regional communities. I value being able to adapt supports to fit each individual and ensure people aren’t disadvantaged by where they live.

I Love the opportunity to work in an organisation where we can really see the difference we make in our clients lives, watching them grow and flourish with assistance from our support workers. HCA and the disability sector is ever evolving, it is so nice to be able to watch how with a little support our clients are able to be independent.

HCA is a place where I am able to use my Skills and experience to outline the importance of support for people with a disability. It is an incredible place to work especially knowing that what we do every day makes a difference to peoples lives whether that be the client themselves or the families around them.

I genuinely enjoy every aspect of my role. This is my first experience working in recruitment and operations for allocations, and it has been an incredible learning journey both professionally and personally. Since joining, I’ve felt very supported, and it’s truly become a second home for me.

I love working for HCA because of the incredible people I’m surrounded by every day. Everyone in the Perth office is so friendly and supportive, and it truly feels like one big family. That sense of connection makes coming to work every day really enjoyable. I also really value my role as a recruiter. Being able to help people secure jobs is so rewarding, especially when it comes to new graduates. Seeing their excitement and happiness as they start their very first nursing role, and knowing I’ve played a part in helping them begin their careers, is incredibly fulfilling

HCA has a strong sense of culture and made up of great people. I started my HCA career in Perth surrounded by an amazing team, and recently had a location change where I now work internationally. Despite working for HCA all the way in Ireland, I still feel part of the HCA family back in Australia!
