Mental Health Registered Nurse

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.

In December 2024, we commenced providing health, mental health and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network.  Our team, which includes nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals, offer a wide range of healthcare services to detainees, such as triaging, medication, wound management, immunisation, and other clinical procedures.  HCA also introduced a Virtual Care Centre (VCC), a 24/7 service that provides remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations, helping to enhance onsite care for detainees.

Join us in bringing a new approach to medical and wellbeing care for detainees by:

– Provide comprehensive, person-centred mental health care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment in collaboration with detainees and the multidisciplinary team.

– Promote culturally sensitive, safe, and respectful care that upholds the dignity, rights, and individual needs of people in detention.

– Contribute to continuous improvement of mental health services, including participating in policy development, quality initiatives, and performance reviews to enhance clinical outcomes for detainees.

– Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring coordinated, multidisciplinary care and maintaining high standards of professional conduct to support Healthcare Australia’s values and reputation.
