Position Overview: As a Casual Residential Youth Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and young people living in out-of-home care. You’ll help create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment while supporting young people to build life skills, resilience, and positive connections. With rosters planned in advance, you’ll enjoy flexibility and greater work-life balance, with opportunities for consistent ongoing shifts as well as emergency and ad hoc work. Responsibilities:
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
Create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment
Support daily living tasks including meals, personal care, hygiene, and routines
Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social development
Assist with school attendance, appointments, and community participation
Administer medication and maintain accurate case notes/documentation
Support complex behaviours using trauma-informed practices and TCI strategies
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and care plans
Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and reflective practice
We’re Looking For To be considered for this Youth Worker role, you’ll need to have (or be open to obtaining) the following:
Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar Community Services industry
Australian Drivers License (OPEN) Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Current First Aid & CPR certificate
Police Check
