Position Overview
As a casual Residential Youth Worker with HCA, you’ll support children and young people in out-of-home care in a meaningful, trauma-informed role. We’re seeking compassionate, resilient individuals able to respond to complex behaviours. Enjoy the flexibility of casual work with advance rostering for added stability, plus access to emergency and ad hoc shifts each week. Competitive hourly rates range from $44.61–$80.30 (inclusive of penalty rates).
Key Duties
Build safe, trusting relationships with young people
Support daily living (meals, hygiene, routines, independence)
Transport to school, appointments, and activities
Promote emotional regulation and positive social engagement
Administer medication and complete accurate documentation
Respond to behaviours using trauma-informed, TCI-informed approaches
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Maintain personal wellbeing and reflective practice
What You Need
Availability for overnight shifts (minimum 3 per week: 14:30–09:00 sleepover) – this is a MUST!
Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent
Minimum 6 months’ residential youth work experience
