Residential Youth Worker – North Brisbane

Position Overview: 
As a casual Residential Youth Worker with HCA, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. We are seeking compassionate and resilient youth workers to support children from a wide range of backgrounds. 

As a Youth Worker at Infinity you will be joining a welcoming and supportive team. To make life a little easier for you, we do our rosters in advance, which grants you some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week. 
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Build trusting relationships and create a safe, nurturing environment for at-risk youth. 
  • Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene while encouraging independence. 
  • Support attendance at school, appointments, and community activities. 
  • Encourage emotional regulation and social connection through daily activities. 
  • Administer medication and maintain accurate records. 
  • Support complex behaviours using trauma-informed and TCI approaches. 
  • Complete Trauma Recovery Framework and TCI training within three months. 
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams on individual support plans. 
  • Maintain well being through supervision, reflection, and self-care 

What We’re Looking For 
To be considered for this Youth Worker role, you’ll need to have (or be open to obtaining) the following: 

  • Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar  
  • 6 months of residential youth work experience or strong transferable skills 
  • Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher) 
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card) 
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate 
  • Police Check 
  • LCS2 check (Nice to have or happy to obtain)
