Nurse Unit Manager Aged Care

We are currently recruiting experienced Nurse Unit Manager’s to lead and inspire care teams across aged care and healthcare services in Regional Victoria.

  • Ballarat Region 
  • Gippsland Region 
  • Wimmera region

You’ll take ownership of a multi-service clinical environment, leading teams across residential aged care, acute inpatient, urgent care, and community programs. It’s a rare chance to combine clinical leadership, operational management, and quality improvement in one position.

A key leadership role responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care through effective clinical leadership, staff management, and resource coordination.
  
About the Role
As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of optimum levels of care to patients, through effective leadership, management of staff and other resources, and the development of cooperative professional relationships.

  • Lead and mentor a team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Care Staff.
  • Oversee care planning, assessments, and clinical governance.
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and legislative requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, GPs, allied health, and community partners.
  • Support workforce planning, rostering, and performance management.
  • Promote a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and service development.

  
This role offers a mix of clinical and management shifts, allowing you to remain hands-on while leading service delivery.

About You
You will be a motivated and compassionate leader with:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing clinical care in an aged care setting
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills and an engaging, supportive leadership style
  • AHPRA Registration 
  • High level of organization and adaptability, with a commitment to innovation and excellence
  • Experience mentoring and developing nursing staff
  • Willingness to relocate to Regional Victoria
