Perioperative ANUM

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Nurse Unit Manager – Perioperative (ANUM) to join a busy Perioperative Unit within a leading private healthcare organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with strong perioperative expertise and leadership experience to take the next step in their career, while contributing to high-quality patient care and a supportive team environment.

About the Role

Working collaboratively with the Perioperative Services Manager, you will assist with the efficient and effective operation of the Perioperative Unit.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff across Theatre, Anaesthetics and Recovery
  • Assisting with daily operations, resource management and rostering
  • Supporting the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care
  • Mentoring and supporting nursing staff, including junior nurses and new graduates
  • Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures and relevant clinical standards
  • Contributing to quality improvement and risk management initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support comprehensive patient care
  • Supporting effective patient admissions, transfers and discharges
  • Promoting a positive, professional and patient-centred team culture

About You

You will be a highly motivated Registered Nurse with significant experience in Perioperative Nursing and previous leadership or supervisory experience.
You will demonstrate:

  • Strong experience within a Perioperative environment
  • Previous experience in a senior nursing or leadership role
  • Excellent clinical leadership and communication skills
  • A commitment to patient-centred care and professional development
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative and supportive approach to teamwork

Remuneration

$59.16 – $61.11 per hour + superannuation, based on experience and qualifications, exclusive of penalties and allowances.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification and current AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated Perioperative nursing experience
  • Previous leadership/senior nursing experience
  • National Police Check completed within the previous 12 months, or willingness to obtain
  • Working With Children Check may be required depending on the role
  • Evidence of required immunisations may be required
