Position Overview – More Than a Shift. A Chance to Make a Difference. As a Casual Residential Youth Worker with HCA, you’ll support children and young people living in out-of-home care, helping them feel safe, supported and valued. We’re looking for compassionate, resilient and reliable Youth Workers who can build trust, navigate challenging situations and make a positive impact.

What You’ll Do
Build trusted relationships and create a safe, supportive environment.
Support daily living, including personal care, meals and hygiene.
Help young people engage in school, appointments and community activities.
Promote emotional regulation, independence and positive social connections.
Administer medication and maintain accurate records.
Support complex behaviours using trauma-informed and TCI approaches.
Complete Trauma Recovery Framework and TCI training within three months.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver individual support plans.
Prioritise wellbeing through supervision, reflection and self-care.
What We’re Looking For We’re looking for people who bring compassion, resilience and the right attitude to every shift. To join our team, you’ll need:
Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar — or be studying towards one
Ideally 6+ months’ residential youth work experience or strong transferable skills
Open Australian Driver’s Licence
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Current First Aid & CPR
Police Check
LCS2 Check – desirable, or willingness to obtain
