RN Triage AOD

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.   

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions.  HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees 

In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical care and coordinate timely access to primary healthcare services for detainees with AOD-related needs. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, responsive, and culturally respectful healthcare delivery.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary environment.

Monday to Friday | 9:00 am – 5:00 pm | No Weekends!

Day to day!

  • Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments and deliver person-centred nursing care.
  • Develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and provide health education.
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support positive client outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and practice in line with professional standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, manage clinical resources, and foster a collaborative team culture.

Lets talk about you!

To be successful in this role, you will hold unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), a postgraduate qualification in Drug & Alcohol Health (AQF Level 8+) or equivalent experience, and at least five years’ experience in AOD nursing. You will have strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, with a sound understanding of contemporary AOD service delivery.
