Counsellor

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.   

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions.  HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees 

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Counsellor to join our team. You will provide high-quality, client-centered counselling, conduct psychosocial and risk assessments, deliver targeted interventions, coordinate care, and connect clients with community resources to support their overall well-being.

Day to day!

  • Provide individual and group counselling treatments addressing a wide range of psychosocial issues.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments to inform treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement personalized care and intervention plans, including crisis support.
  • Coordinate with external health providers.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision.

This full-time role offers flexibility, including the option to work up to one day per fortnight from home. We’re also open to a job-share arrangement with two part-time Counsellors.

 

Lets talk about you! 

As a minimum degree-qualified Counsellor registered with ACA & PACFA you bring experience delivering counselling across a range of therapeutic modalities, including those supporting mental health, trauma, addictions and family dynamics.

You communicate with empathy, collaborate effectively, and consistently prioritise person-centred, ethical care.
