This is a standout senior theatre leadership opportunity for an experienced perioperative nursing leader ready to step into a broad, influential role within a major regional hospital environment.
Our Client is seeking a confident and capable nursing leader to oversee the operational performance of a busy operating suite, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient and patient-centred surgical services.
The role is classified at NM11 and sits within Clinical Services, reporting through senior hospital leadership. The position has broad responsibility across staffing, rostering, patient flow, budget management, quality improvement, clinical governance, risk, complaints, policy implementation and team development, based on the position description provided.

About the role
You will lead the day-to-day operation of the theatre department, supporting high-quality care while driving performance across workforce, flow, safety and service outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring and supporting theatre nursing teams
- Managing rosters, staffing levels, skill mix and workforce planning
- Overseeing patient flow and operational efficiency across the operating suite
- Monitoring budget, KPIs and service performance
- Driving quality improvement, innovation and risk prevention
- Supporting NSQHS compliance, clinical standards and safe practice
- Managing complaints, performance matters and staff development
- Working clinically when operational demand requires it
About you:
You will be an experienced perioperative or theatre nursing leader with the confidence to manage people, performance and service delivery in a complex hospital setting.
You will bring:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in a nursing specialty
- Strong theatre, perioperative or operating suite experience
- Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience
- Proven leadership across multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, reporting and data analysis skills
- Understanding of budget, staffing, KPIs and clinical governance
- Knowledge of NSQHS standards, risk and quality improvement
