About the Role
As a Patient Transport Nurse, you will provide safe, high-quality care to patients during non-emergency transfers between hospitals, healthcare facilities and community settings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical care and patient monitoring during transport
- Managing patient assessments and observations
- Administering medications within scope of practice
- Ensuring safe patient transfers and handovers
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Delivering compassionate, patient-centred care
- Working collaboratively with transport and healthcare teams
- Adhering to all clinical, safety and infection control standards
About You To be successful, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
- Minimum 12 months post-graduate nursing experience
- Previous experience in Patient Transport, Emergency Department, Acute Care or similar settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- A professional, adaptable and patient-focused approach
Essential Requirements
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Current Class C Unrestricted Driver’s Licence with a safe driving record
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Up-to-date vaccinations and compliance documentation
- Full Australian working rights
