Registered Nurse – AOD Part-Time positions available

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.   

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions.  HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

Employment Type: Part-time positions available
Compensation: Above award hourly rates, plus applicable penalty rates

As an AOD Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team providing person-centred, high-quality, and safe care to individuals in detention with alcohol and other drug-related needs. You will conduct comprehensive AOD assessments, develop and implement care plans, deliver brief interventions, support withdrawal management, and monitor progress.

This is a great opportunity to work across a range of AOD services, including harm reduction, health promotion, medication administration, and psychoeducation. You’ll be delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a trauma-informed environment that respects the rights, culture, and dignity of every individual.

Let’s talk about you!

You are an AHPRA Registered Nurse (General unrestricted registration) with at least five (5) years of clinical experience, including direct patient care in alcohol and other drug (AOD), mental health, or a related operational setting (non-Telehealth).

You bring strong clinical judgment, the ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary AOD or healthcare team.
