Registered Nurse – AOD | Monday–Friday | No Night Shifts

We’re offering a $4,000 sign-on bonus for compassionate and experienced Drug and Alcohol (AOD) Registered Nurses to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team at the Brisbane Immigration Detention Centre.  This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing substance use challenges while ensuring a safe and supportive setting, within a primary care framework.

Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 4:00pm (flexible – day shift only)

$4,000 Sign-On Bonus available for eligible candidates*

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with drug and alcohol-related needs.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to each individual.
  • Administer medications safely, including detoxification protocols when required.
  • Provide education and support on harm reduction, relapse prevention, and recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mental health professionals, security staff, and external services.

We’re looking for an experienced AOD Registered Nurse who brings strong clinical skills and a compassionate, non-judgemental approach to patient care.

You’ll need:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • Either:
    • A postgraduate qualification in AOD + at least 5 years’ specialist AOD experience, or
    • 7 years’ specialist AOD nursing experience
