The Role:
Opportunity for a Commercial Lawyer, responsible for providing comprehensive legal support, with a focus on reviewing and advising on commercial contracts, property leases and tender requests. This role also involves managing standard contracting terms and conditions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Document legal responses to third-party request and tender requests, ensuring compliance with legal standards and organisational policies
- Understand financial implications in commercial contracts and property leases
- Assist in managing and developing internal legal processes, including the contract and legal management system, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness
- In collaboration with senior stakeholders, maintain and manage the organisations standard terms of business
- Identify ways of improving systems and processes within your area of responsibility.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned by your manager to assist in ensuring the success of HCA
- Participate and comply with the company’s quality management systems and processes
- Work safely and in accordance with Healthcare Australia’s OHS policies and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of employee OH&S rights and responsibilities as defined in the HCA OH&S Manual
- Administration and general upkeep of the contract and legal management system
To be considered:
- You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Law and completed the PLT program
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience as a Lawyer, with a focus on commercial law
- In-depth and demonstrated knowledge of Australian commercial law, including contract and corporate law
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating property leases
- Ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice
- You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
- Proactive, self-motivated and pragmatic with the ability to work autonomously
