Commercial Lawyer

The Role:

Opportunity for a Commercial Lawyer, responsible for providing comprehensive legal support, with a focus on reviewing and advising on commercial contracts, property leases and tender requests.  This role also involves managing standard contracting terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Document legal responses to third-party request and tender requests, ensuring compliance with legal standards and organisational policies
  • Understand financial implications in commercial contracts and property leases
  • Assist in managing and developing internal legal processes, including the contract and legal management system, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness
  • In collaboration with senior stakeholders, maintain and manage the organisations standard terms of business
  • Identify ways of improving systems and processes within your area of responsibility.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned by your manager to assist in ensuring the success of HCA
  • Participate and comply with the company’s quality management systems and processes
  • Work safely and in accordance with Healthcare Australia’s OHS policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of employee OH&S rights and responsibilities as defined in the HCA OH&S Manual
  • Administration and general upkeep of the contract and legal management system

To be considered:

  • You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Law and completed the PLT program
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience as a Lawyer, with a focus on commercial law
  • In-depth and demonstrated knowledge of Australian commercial law, including contract and corporate law
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating property leases
  • Ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
  • Proactive, self-motivated and pragmatic with the ability to work autonomously
