HCA has an incredible app that is compatible for all smartphones

You can choose your availability 24/7 for a mixture of AM (morning), PM (afternoon) and ND (night duty) shifts

You will get an ALERT on your phone to inform you that you have been allocated a shift. You can then choose to accept or decline.

Once you have accepted a shift, it will show you the details of the shift

  • Time of shift
  • Location (address)
  • Your role (ward, theatre, ED) Timesheet information – most facilities use the app, but read this section for more details on each facility
  • Parking information

Hot tips for eHCA App

  • Ensure to update HCA on ALL the areas you would like to work. The more areas you are willing to work, the more shifts become available. For example, if you have been booked for an Emergency Department shift but then the facility does not require a nurse anymore, instead of cancelling your shift, then can re allocate you to the wards if you are willing to go to the ward.
  • You can be paid the NEXT DAY if you like (quickpay). Read below for more details. Otherwise, pay is weekly (cha ching)
  • Most facilities require you to sign on at their office before commencement of shift and after the shift. Make sure to read the app to locate where you need to sign on.

QuickPay explained

Need cash ASAP? We got you covered! Did you know that you can do a shift and get it paid the NEXT DAY? Once you have completed your shift, and you are getting ready for your authoriser to sign, there is a QUICKPAY box. Click YES to quickpay (small fee’s applied)

 

Want to be paid LATER? Bank up your hours?

You have the option to change your pay date. Want to go away on holiday and want extra cash while you’re away? Or have bills due at the end of the month?

Once you have completed your shifts, head onto the app on the Sunday/Monday and click on TIMESHEET and choose your shift you want to be paid at a later date. Click on the shift, then SHIFT DETAILS and at the bottom it states PAY DATE and you then have the option to move the pay to a different date. There is only a 24-hour window to do this, so make sure you do it on the Sunday/Monday!
