Responsibilities as a Perioperative Registered Nurse – Scrub Scout:
Provide perioperative nursing care in compliance with current legislation
Deliver evidence-based, high-quality nursing care
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
Prioritize patient and staff safety at all times
Supervise, direct, and guide Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) in patient care (RN level)
Continuously evaluate nursing care to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Accurately document patient information in the medical record in a clear, concise, and timely manner using accepted abbreviations and terminology
Essential Criteria:
Current AHPRA registration
Minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience as a Scrub/Scout Nurse
Demonstrated experience in a high-acuity Perioperative Orthopaedic setting
Valid Working with Children Check (if applicable)
Commitment to high-quality patient care and adherence to ACQSHC National Standards
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Basic computer proficiency
Desirable Criteria:
Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or currently pursuing)
