Threatre Nurse- Orthopedics

Responsibilities as a Perioperative Registered Nurse – Scrub Scout:

  • Provide perioperative nursing care in compliance with current legislation
  • Deliver evidence-based, high-quality nursing care
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Prioritize patient and staff safety at all times
  • Supervise, direct, and guide Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) in patient care (RN level)
  • Continuously evaluate nursing care to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Accurately document patient information in the medical record in a clear, concise, and timely manner using accepted abbreviations and terminology

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience as a Scrub/Scout Nurse
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-acuity Perioperative Orthopaedic setting
  • Valid Working with Children Check (if applicable)
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and adherence to ACQSHC National Standards
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Basic computer proficiency

Desirable Criteria:

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or currently pursuing)
