HELLO! We are Xana & Jess, your sparkly new BRAND AMBASSADORS. We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and a little about each of us and what this role will mean for us & for you.

Xana – Brand Ambassador

“I am Xana (on the left) and I have been a Registered Nurse for 6 years, based in Intensive Care whilst dabbling my toe in Emergency and Primary Health Care as well as Correctional Nursing. In 2020, I decided to become a full-time nomad after a major heartbreak and lived full-time on the road for 1.5 years until settling in Brisbane. I met Jess working in a jail on an HCA Rural and Remote contract, and we bonded straight away.

Joining forces, we decided to create a nursing website that created a platform for nurses to use to understand the life of a travel nurse, as well as being a giant survival guide for all those interested in taking the plunge. I am an energetic and passionate person and LOVE learning a good TikTok dance. I also love camping, exploring beautiful and untouched scenery and flying my drone around getting amazing footage of Australia.

My favourite place to be is by the water listening to a true-crime podcast, camping in the middle of nowhere or having a cocktail and a debrief with friends. I enjoy a good balance of the outdoors, but also love a good night in, watching movies with some popcorn.

I am extremely passionate about agency nursing and can’t wait to inspire many more people to take the plunge. We are so excited to start this journey and look forward to connecting with you all.”

Jess – Brand Ambassador

“Hey, I’m Jess (on the right). I have been a Registered Nurse since 2012 and have had the most incredible experiences since I took the leap to become an agency nurse back in 2017. I had a 5-minute conversation with a HCA nurse who had just completed a contract, and I was extremely inspired and wanted to start ASAP!

I very spontaneously quit my job and took a 3-month contract (scary but so exhilarating) in rural NSW. I learnt SO much about myself and was absolutely addicted to the endless possibilities that this new lifestyle gave me!

During this time, a lot of friends, co-workers and strangers would message me asking for guidance about doing the same career path and this led me to create a nursing platform online. I then met my bestie, Xana, while on a contract, and we instantly became besties (the people you meet on contracts become a part of your family).

Since then, we have continued our lives as agency nurses and have now started this amazing new position as HCA Brand Ambassadors to inspire YOU all, show you what is actually possible as an agency nurse, and to be with you every step of the way!

On the weekends you will find me constantly socialising as I am quite the extrovert and just love being with others. I am described as VERY bubbly, energetic, and friendly, and I just have the most positive attitude towards life. My favourite quote of all time is, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

With this role, we plan to provide on-the-ground support to nurses, be present across all social media and be your go-to girls for queries, help, inside info and more.
