The Australian Government provides payments to approved providers to assist with the cost of care and support to those who need it, allowing access to affordable aged care options no matter a person’s circumstances. The Government does this through subsidies and supplements, and aged care program funding.
Aged care government funding is paid directly to the aged care provider and is assessed based on the patient and their individual situation and needs:
- An assessment of your unique care needs by the provider is completed to determine the level of care and support required.
- An assessment of how much you can afford to contribute to the cost of your care is conducted.
