Support Worker to NDIS Learning and Development Coordinator

After gaining invaluable experience as a support worker, she briefly stepped into the recruitment sector before returning to HCA as an NDIS Recruitment Consultant. Her hard work and drive didn’t go unnoticed, and she was soon promoted to an NDIS Senior Recruitment Consultant role.

Following another six months of outstanding performance, Chloe reached a significant milestone in her career–earning the position of NDIS Learning and Development Coordinator.

When reflecting on the steps to her progression, Chloe highlights the importance of teamwork. “I worked hard to build strong relationships with stakeholders, managers, and my team. Success didn’t come from working alone, but by fostering great collaboration and support.”

Advice for Newcomers

For individuals beginning their careers as support workers or looking to advance in the industry, Chloe has simple but valuable advice.

“Be open and willing to pick up shorter shifts,” she encourages. “It’s the best way to learn about the wide variety of participants needing NDIS support while gaining valuable experience.”

She also highlights the importance of building deep relationships with clients. “Engage with participants and their stories. Understanding their unique needs builds confidence and enhances your skill set, making you a stronger asset in this field.”
