About the role The Speech Pathology Service delivers care to patients, both children and adults, throughout the hospital departments as well as in outpatient, community and rural settings. You will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management to children and adults needing help with communication and/or swallowing.
Location: Mackay, QLD Facility: Mackay Base Hospital Department: Speech Pathology Caseload: Acute/hospital setting Experience with one or more of the following:
Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS)
Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation Of Swallowing (FEES)
Laryngectomy
Paediatric feeding and dysphagia
Tracheostomy
Accommodation Provided Travel: Up to $350 (incl. GST) Working hours:7.6 – 8-hour shifts — (07.30 – 1700) Monday to Friday Duration: 28/01/25 – 20/04/25 (approx 12 weeks)
Key responsibilities include:
Provide evidence-based speech pathology services
Conduct comprehensive assessments and interventions of communication and swallowing disorders
Create and implement personalised treatment plans
Work within a multi-disciplinary clinical team
Complete timely and accurate documentation
To be successful in the role you will have:
Bachelor of Speech Pathology (or similar)
Speech Pathologist Australia (SPA) Registration
Australian working rights
Australian drivers’ licence
National Police Clearance
Working with children check (Blue Card)
