HCA Staff Dress Blue for Beyond Blue
HCA hosts the first event ‘Dress Blue for Beyondblue’ in support of our chosen charity.
After much thought and consideration, Healthcare Australia is pleased to announce the charity the company will be supporting moving forward, is Beyondblue. Beyondblue is an organisation whose work is aimed at achieving an Australian community that understands depression and anxiety, empowering all Australians, at any life-stage, to seek help.
HCA was on the lookout for a charity to support nationally, as an opportunity to give back. It was particularly important that the charity related to the business, which is why all HCA staff were asked for their thoughts and suggestions. There are over 55,000 registered charities in Australia and this makes the process of choosing just one very difficult.
To kick things off HCA held their first national event – ‘Dress Blue for Beyondblue’. The event involved a casual dress day where staff were encouraged to wear blue and make a gold coin donation, which HCA would match dollar for dollar.
More about Beyondblue…
Most Australians have some experience with anxiety and depression or related disorders, whether it is personal or via family, friends or work colleagues. Beyondblue raises awareness, reduces stigma and ensures people have access to the information they need to support recovery, management and resilience and is a national, independent, not-for-profit organisation and a bipartisan initiative of the Australian, state and territory governments.
Beyondblue works in partnership with health services, schools, workplaces, universities, media and community organisations, as well as people living with depression, anxiety and related disorders and their carers, to bring together expertise and provide tools and resources.
HCA will be hosting more events in support of its chosen charity over the coming months, including fun runs and workplace giving.
