Georgie Carroll, a resident British Nurse wears more than one hat when it comes to her life ‚ she’s an Emergency Nurse, wife, mother and a fabulous comedian. She hit the comedy scene over 8 years ago in Australia and was named Adelaide’s best newcomer that very same year. In 2012, she had her first televised performance in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) and she became the National Finalist in MICF RAW.

Her debut solo stand-up show Georgie Carroll: Nurse Case Scenario attracted a wide range of people, nurses and non-nurses, completely selling out and was nominated for the prestigious 2013 best comedy newcomer award and nominated again for best comedy award at Perth Comedy Festival with a sold-out audience. Her latest show, Nurse Georgie Carroll: Gauze and Affectis Georgie’s strongest performing show, with again a sold-out audience and outrageous acclaim.

Georgie says Emergency Nursing is a lot harder than being a comedian because if you don’t get a laugh it’s not the end of the world.

Even though Georgie’s job as an Emergency Nurse is very serious, she is always having a good laugh with her colleagues and this is where a lot of her jokes stem from. Georgie enjoys working as a Nurse in the ICU and Emergency Department, but always had a desire for the spotlight, this is where her love for comedy grew and she managed to combine both passions.

Georgie’s normal week is working casually at the Adelaide Hospital while performing as a comedian every other day. Now that it is comedy season, Georgie is touring Australia. She has already performed in Melbourne and is hitting Sydney on the 10-14^th May for the ‘Sydney Comedy Festival’ 7 pm (6 pm Sundays) at the Factory Theatre, 105 Victoria Road, Marrickville.
