Kelly Ramsdale, Registered Nurse SA

What was your professional background / work history before joining HCA?

I was many things before I studied my Bachelor of Nursing, including managing a café and cellar door, vintage hand (wine making) and hospitality. I also have a long professional history in business and administration but I actually started my working life as a chef!

How long have you been with the HCA team?

Since August 2023.

What is your favourite thing to do when not working?

I just love life and all of its joys! I am a bit of a homebody and I love cooking, gardening or being at the beach. I am blessed to be a busy mum to 2, plus my dog so we get out to all sorts of sports and activities, and it would be hard to pick a fave between being a golf caddy to my 11 year old son or surf life saving (walking on a beautiful golf course, or the beach= no brainer!)

What is your favourite movie, band or book?

My favourite movie is Erin Brokovich, because I love a strong female underdog. I have a guilty pleasure, and my favourite band is Korn.

What’s a quote you try to live by?

‘Live the life you love, love the life you live’. This quote is tattooed on my wrist!

What do you like most about working in HCA Home Care? 

Essentially, I get paid to do something I genuinely LOVE- and that is meeting and helping people.

What do you wish more people knew about RN work in Home Care?

How flexible and rewarding it is. We really can make a big impact in the life of our client, and it’s nice to emphasise some of the human, soft skills of nursing.
