HCA celebrates International Midwives Day
This year, to celebrate International Midwives Day, we asked our Midwives to share why they love their job, their experience and useful tips. We created a video mash up showcasing some of the stories of our Midwives. As a special thank you, we also rewarded all our Midwives working on the day with a bonus100 HCA Rewards points.
Midwife Theresa Ruzive, NSW candidly shared with us why she decided to become a Midwife. After having a bad birthing experience in her hometown when having her second son, she decided she wanted to make a difference in a woman’s birthing experience.
When we asked Angela Fyneman, WA what is the most rewarding part of being a Midwife, she humbly said, The thank you’s. The thank you for being with me, the thank you for helping me to learn how to breast feed, the thank you from the dads and the partners about how making them feel comfortable with their new babies.
Barbara Steicke, SA bestowed some great advice to our new Midwives reminding them that things can change at a moment’s notice so do the best you can to get a happy healthy mother and baby every day.
We are very proud of our Midwives and appreciate their dedication to the health and wellbeing of thousands of mothers and newborns every day.
